Join us for a weekly Homeschool Learning Studio Day designed for immersive, hands-on learning, meaningful work, and living ideas. This 14-week program offers a rich rhythm of storytelling, creative exploration, and skill-based learning guided by Katy and rotating specialty teachers. 

Rooted in the Charlotte Mason approach, students will engage in developmentally appropriate academics and artistic work that nurtures curiosity, attention, and imagination. Each week blends language arts, artistic practice, and handwork to create a balanced and engaging learning experience.

This studio day is designed for children who thrive in a rhythmic, hands-on environment where learning is lived through making, doing, and experiencing.

In the fall, we will explore a rich feast of learning that includes :

• Artist Study of Beatrix Potter and the art of watercolor painting
• Language Arts: Writing (and/or illustrating) interesting and story-rich letters to friends and family who live in other places- inspired by the letters of Ms. Potter
• Nature Study: Mycology and the importance of Conservation
• Field Trip: Painting in the Garden - a trip to a local community garden where we will bring our watercolor supplies and paint like Beatrix Potter (Date TBD)
• Composer Study of Claude Debussy and several folk songs
• The poetry of Carl Sandburg who lived at the same time as Beatrix Potter and how their work was rooted in a strong sense of place and nature
• Handwork : Beginner Knitting
• Optional additional reading recommendations for at-home practice
• A culmination of learning in a showcase day where students will present their work and recite a memorized poem. 

The Rhythm of the day will loosely look like :

• Opening circle with song and movement
• Artist or composer study
• Watercolor Painting or Language arts exploration
• Lunch and movement (Lunches will be packed and brought from home)
• Handwork or Art project
• Poetry tea time or Nature Study
• Closing reflection and sharing

Supplies:
All materials for classroom projects are provided and included in the cost of the class.

Schedule:
Time: Thursdays from 11:00am–2:00pm
Dates: Begins September 10th and ends on December 17th (full calendar to come)
Location: Grow Creative Studio inside the Historic Sacred Heart Building in East Hill

Cost:
$550 up front OR
$25 deposit and $137 billed monthly September–December

This is a drop-off class.

Please note: Acceptance into this program requires an application. Refunds are available up to one month before the start date. After that, only partial refunds can be offered due to materials and planning commitments. Enrollment is a commitment to the full session, and payments are expected even if a student withdraws.
