Pine Needle Basket Workshop
A Monthly Slow Craft Gathering at Grow Creative
Pine needle basketry is a heritage craft rooted in patience, rhythm, and working with natural materials.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the coiling technique used to create pine needle baskets — a process where bundles of long pine needles are carefully stitched together to form a strong, sculptural vessel.
Led by Meg of Wren Haven Homestead, this gathering is designed for beginners and those curious about traditional handwork.
During our time together, you will:
• Learn the fundamentals of coiled pine needle basketry
• Work with natural materials to build and shape your basket
• Stitch and secure your piece using traditional techniques
• Leave with a finished basket (or trivet) that is both functional and decorative
This is slow crafting — steady, focused, and deeply satisfying. This workshop isn't just about making a basket, but learning a heritage skill that you can use time and time again and teach to others in your life.
No prior experience is needed. You’ll be guided step by step in a relaxed, supportive environment.
