Come join us for a season of working with clay! In this 13-week class, students will explore the foundations of handbuilding pottery through pinching, coiling, and shaping techniques as they create functional and expressive ceramic pieces.
Rooted in Charlotte Mason philosophy and inspired by Waldorf education, this class emphasizes process, patience, and connection to natural materials. Working with clay offers a deeply tactile experience that supports focus, creativity, and confidence as students bring their ideas into three-dimensional form.
At this age, students are ready to develop more control and intention in their work. This class provides the opportunity to build foundational pottery skills while encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and pride in creating usable, handmade pieces.
Each week includes:
Opening circle time
Guided hand building instruction (pinching, coiling, shaping)
