Hello and welcome to this new series on the blog called "Simple Creativity". The inspiration for this series of projects came from our own experiences of being busy humans in this world and knowing the value of creativity in the midst of it all.
Today we will get right into it by making these sweet + simple origami picture frames. You can create your own artwork or print photos to put inside. These can be sized up or down depending on the size of your paper. We love to use ours as little love notes to the people around us!
Materials :
+ Medium weight paper or Origami Paper
+ Scissors
+ Ruler
+ Photos or artwork to frame
Directions:
+ Start with measuring and cutting out a square. We used 4" x 4" for this tiny frame. You can make yours larger or smaller!
+ Fold your paper in half lengthwise, then open it up and fold it in half width wise. Open your paper up again.
+ Begin to fold each corner toward the center until all 4 corners are folded in.
+ Flip your paper over. Now fold each corner toward the center again until all 4 corners are folded in.
+ Now fold each tip back on itself toward the outside edge until all 4 corners are folded out.
+ Cut another piece of paper or photo to fit inside. For our 4" x 4" paper, we ended up with about a 2" opening.
+ Place inside and press all your creases so that the photo or artwork stays put.
Make several to pass as love notes or hang in your home. These are also so cute as bookmarks or tiny art pieces on a bookshelf. Enjoy!
